What flowers do the majority of florists keep in their flower shop/ floral cooler?
If you just opened a flower shop then you may be wondering- “What flowers and foliage do I order to keep in my floral cooler/ shop?” Florists have access to many different types of blooms and greens however there are certain basics you will want to keep handy in the flower shop at all time.
Once your flower shop starts gaining visibility/ traffic then it will become easy to gauge your flower supply needs. Are you busy with walk in’s? Are you doing many funeral floral arrangements? Do you have standing flower orders? Also good to take into consideration that a popular bloom may not actually be available or “in season”- there are times when you will order your basic flowers in addition to a few beauties that are currently available.
Flower Shop Must-Have Flowers:
Roses
Roses is still the most loved flower in the world and all flower shops should have roses in their floral cooler in the basic shades.
- Red Roses
- Pink Roses
- White/Cream Roses
- Yellow Roses
- Lavender Roses
You may also order specialty rose blooms such as garden roses when available and incorporate them into your mixed floral arrangements. Although not always available and can be a bit pricy. Check out top-rated florist roses.
Spray Roses
I could not live without spray roses at my flower shop. Spray roses grow in clusters and are sweet and add so much whimsy and movement to a floral arrangement.
- Light Pink Spray Roses
- Peach Spray Roses (If Available)
- White/ Cream Spray Roses
Delphinium
Delphinium gives your height and is most popular for its bluish shade however, you can also get delphinium in purple and pink.
Snapdragons
Snapdragons will also give height and balance to your floral arrangements. Come in variations of shades.
